EPTIC Journal is classified as A1 in the new evaluation

The EPTIC Journal (International Electronic Journal of the Political Economy of Information, Communication and Culture) achieved important recognition by being classified as A1 in the new CAPES assessment, covering the period 2021–2024. This is the highest level of qualification and reflects the consolidation of the journal, which is linked to the Professional Postgraduate Program in Economics at the Federal University of Sergipe (PROPEC/UFS), being edited by the Observatory of Economics and Communication (Obscom).

EPTIC was founded in 1999 and its mission is to constitute a space for critical dialogue between EPC and other academic fields, working directly in research and producing knowledge about social reality capable of cooperating with social change. Its target audience is students, teachers and researchers whose specialty is related to Political Economy and its interfaces and critical communicational thinking.

This recognition occurs at a time that highlights the importance of critical thinking, especially related to these sectors, given the centrality of communications in the architecture of the capitalist system and the need to transform them, thus contributing to the transformation of society.
