Abstract

In this article, I analyse the distinction elaborated by Guilherme de Sherwood between a categorematic and a syncategorematic use of the term 'infinities', showing how, for Sherwood, these different uses should be understood in light of the ways in which numerals and the term 'every' are used. I conclude the article by explaining the two conceptions of infinity that are expressed through those two different uses of the term.
