Resumo

The History of Philosophy shows that the human being has always seek for the truth, understood as the essence of reality. Nietzsche, laing himself over this question, tries to show that the human being creates the “truth” for reasons of survival and conservation, thus developing what he calls the will to truth. Such a will substantiates the science and signifies a need for something to be taken as truth. For him, the human being, actually, does not seek for the truth for love of it, aiming, only, for its pleasant consequences. Nietzsche understands that this will to truth needs to undergo a critique. In view of this, the question is: where does this impulse to the truth come from?
