Interview conducted with Carmen Rial, the National Institute of Science and Technology Studies of Brazilian Football Coordinator, made by Cristiano Mezzaroba and Daniel Machado da Conceição. Throughout the interview, the researcher addresses her involvement parallel to her trajectory with the theme of soccer, the idea of creating the INCT, its main characteristic – which is its interdisciplinary and interinstitutional character – and the network of researchers linked to it. In addition, it addresses the production of knowledge in the Humanities about football and the importance of this social object for those who are dedicated to the investigative dimension and impacts on public policies and education.
