THE NEW INSTRUMENT TO FIND THE ALTITUDE OF SUN IN NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH

This study aims to identify what has been explored in research on the new instrument to find the altitude of sun. To this end, we work in the light of a qualitative research along the lines of a systematic literature review. Searches were made in platforms and repositories of academic works, as well as in annals of events, both national and international. The collection, on the search platforms, took place in December 2021. The results show that research has been dedicated to bringing information about the context of new instrument to find the altitude of sun elaboration in Portuguese navigation. There are also studies that have been dedicated to developing the teaching and learning process from the geometric knowledge synthesized in the apparatus. However, it is noted that there are still gaps around the new instrument to find the altitude of sun, for example, of a historical and epistemological nature. It is also necessary to carry out research on the potential of the apparatus for the teaching and learning process of mathematics, whether in Basic Education or in teacher training, both initial and continuing.
