TANGENCY BETWEEN CONICS VIA EIGENSPACES OF MATRICES

Abstract

The tangency relations between lines and conics, as well as between two conics, have been studied by mathematicians since antiquity. In this work, we show that the tangency relation between two conics can be determined through the study of the eigenspaces of a matrix.
