This text is part of an ongoing master's research project linked to the Postgraduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education (PPGecim). To answer the following question: What knowledge for and to be taught, aimed at the training of mathematics teachers, is present in the changes that occurred in the Science with a Mathematics Qualification course (UNITINS) between 1997 and 2003?, the disposition of the professional knowledge of mathematics teachers in the Science with a Mathematics Qualification course at the State University of Tocantins (UNITINS) was analyzed. The objective was to analyze the professional knowledge of teachers in the changes to the curricular structures of the Science with a Mathematics Qualification course at UNITINS between 1997 and 2003. To this end, a historical research was carried out, based on theoretical and methodological references on historiography and the concept of objectified knowledge. The study indicated that the changes identified in the teaching programs reflect advances in the articulation between knowledge to be taught and knowledge for teaching, demonstrating a continuous concern with adapting teaching to pedagogical practices and the realities of the educational context.
