Teatro, filosofia e educação: o discurso sobre a poesia dramática

Abstract

This article is the result of a Scientific Initiation research project associated with PIBIC-UFS that was carried out during the years 2019-2020. The objective of the research was to demonstrate the necessary relationship between Theater and Education in Diderotian thinking by taking into account the philosophy of this author. Thus it was possible not only to analyse, in light of the precepts established in the Plan of a University and the Discourse on Dramatic Poetry, the second poetics of theatrical creation composed by Diderot but also to understand the reason that led Diderot to conceptualize this revolutionary poetics. The methodology used included examining bibliographic research from a interpretative-hermeneutic perspective, which made it possible to reach the following conclusions regarding the relationship between philosophy, theatre, and education: dramaturgy and its poetics exercise a social function and represent everyday life in society, which causes viewers to reflect on the world around them and allows them to ponder their actions and act in a reflective manner. In Diderotian terms, dramatic poetry requires both an aesthetic and moral configuration in order to forge, through education, the enlightened (wise) and virtuous (good) human being, capable alone of being happy, since each one alone contributes to the achievement of collective happiness.
