Abstract

This article focuses on analyzing the tensions produced through the reasons of reality and imagination, as a skeptical consciousness of the world, In its discursive and existential dimensions. Therefore, the poetic experiments of Wallace Stevens (1879-1955) are taken as a base, to relate it to the aesthetic power and role of modern lyricism through Stevens’ scattered poems, always enhanced In communicational perspectives by the ontological flow of its verses. Thus, through the bibliographic- documentary methodology and grounded on the theoretical contribution by Paz (1982), Bosi (1997), Eliot (1982), Brasileiro (2012), Russell (2010), Nietzsche (2016), Verdan (1998), we Intend to highlight the relationship between reality and imagination, as poetic matter, through thematic configurations In modernity, articulated by the Interstices and existential possibilities, which, through poetic efficacy, are capable to translate the reflections of life In its expressive totality, through which modern lyric appears as a socio-historical category and, therefore, Intersubjective, sensitive to the slow and continuous process of anthropomorphization.
