Abstract

This article aims at investigating the relationship between the private hegemony apparatuses and the cohesive apparatus of the Brazilian State, through an analysis about the coverage of Jornal Nacional about the federal intervention on public se-
curity in the state of Rio de Janeiro in 2018. The programs were analyzed based on the Televisual Analysis (BECKER, 2012) in articulation with reflections about State, ideology, media and violence. It was possible to notice the initial support of the program to the intervention, which was later replaced with criticism and cries for the broadening of the cohesive apparatus of the Brazilian State.
