Abstract

At the 90s, Atilio Boron focused on the asymmetric relationship of forces between States and large multinational companies, warning of the risks that this configuration brought to democracy. Boron's proposal was to analyze the relationship between neoliberalism and the dismantling of democratic states in Latin America. In the second decade of the 21st century, the new leviathans are the Big Techs, leaders in the lists of highest market values. In light of Boron's theory, this article analyzes empirical economic data from these companies to reflect on whether this economic power would be interfering with regulations such as Bill 2630.
