The article analyzes U.S. digital hegemony as a structural power model linking technological infrastructure, state regulation, and financial capital. Using a political economy of communication approach, it reviews policies, historical processes, and market dynamics that consolidated platform capitalism. It examines infrastructure privatization, the global expansion of tech firms, and shifting forms of regulation and competition. The paper argues that the current crisis signals reconfiguration rather than collapse. It advocates a democratic reconstruction of the digital ecosystem: limiting mass data extraction, strengthening technological sovereignty, and promoting informational justice.
