UM OLHAR “MODERNO” SOBRE A PRODUÇÃO ARTÍSTICA DA PÓS-MODERNIDADE
Reflexões a partir de Frederic Jameson
Abstract
Jameson's view of contemporary artistic production, characterized by the author as post-modern, still finds support in the modern way of thinking about and producing art. In this division between two periods, which is a result of the way in which the author understands the economic and cultural context in a broader sense, there are several criticisms about the so-called post-modernism, since it is a sterile artistic production, which loses the features of negation and criticism typical of modernism, being completely associated with the cultural industry and the capitalist mode of production. Nevertheless, even in this scenario, Jameson is able not only to consider and demand an art that demonstrates this possibility of criticism, but to understand how this artistic production can take place in the context of late capitalism, based on the perception of its current moment within the mode of production.
