In the present article, I will argue that, for Epictetus, (1) the human being who puts his good in things beyond his burden (aprohairetic things) will accuse God when these things are removed from him; therefore, you will not be grateful to God; (2) the human being will be grateful to God who puts his good in things at his charge, things that cannot be suppressed in any way and for which we have full responsibility; (3) the human being will be grateful to God who recognizes that God has granted all humans the ability to choose unimpeded; (4) A human being will be able to recognize divine providence in the things that have been given to him for the supply of his own life.
