Abstract

In this work we intend to approach the ethical-musical implications in the thought of the stoic philosopher Diogenes of Babylon. The purpose is to analyze Diogenes' thinking based on the lacunae fragments that have come down to us, more precisely the De Musica by Philodemus of Gadara and also Helen Woodward's work, and to understand his historical-philosophical context. Therefore, our course goes through a contextualization of Diogenes and his stoic approach to music
