CONSCIOUSNESS AND REIDENTIFICATION: PERSONAL IDENTITY AND NARRATIVE IDENTITY

Abstract

This article approaches the theory of personal identity initially formulated by Locke in order to answer a question; if in a “possible world”, after vaccination against COVID-19, if people wake up in an alligator body, is personal identity preserved? Then, it points to another interpretative possibility based on McMahan’s clarifications and his theory about the “embodied mind”. Finally, it expands the concept of identity due to the need to think about an indispensable narrative identity in the pandemic scenario.
