This article proposes revisiting childhood through the analysis of the play Five Easy Pieces by the Swiss director Milo Rau. Based on the children’s conceptual and scenic work present in the performance, the play places a fundamental question: what can we represent from childhood beyond conventional formulas based on innocence, purity or memory and what could children explain as an active subject of representation. Rau proposes to opening new dialogues from their representation not considered before in contemporary theatre.
