PROBLEMS OF BRAZILIAN PHILSOPHY

Abstract

The Modern Art Week of 1922 was an invitation to make an inflection towards Brazil. Philosophy has moved little in this direction, even a century later. We continue to carry out philosophical work guided by the agendas of the old Europe. I discuss here the alternatives that we begin to consider as viable for the practice of a Brazilian philosophy. Although there is more than one alternative, there is no way to circumvent the need for a relevant philosophical work to go through the establishment of a dialogue with Brazilian culture.
