Between October and November 1983, Michel Foucault gave six lectures at Berkeley, problematizing the subject's relations with truth, based on the Greek concept of parrhesia (παρρησία). These conferences, like so many others that made up a series of courses offered by the French philosopher, were later recorded and organized in books that collaborate in a unique way with research to the present day. The conferences were edited by the University of Berkeley in 1985 and were translated in Brazil, gaining the format of articles, in 2013, organized and published by the team of Revista Prometeus, under the coordination of prof. Dr. Aldo Dinucci of the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS).
