Abstract

The development of the Global New Right phenomenon and its respective political actors in European and American continents in recent years has been the subject of debate in international relations and political science. The Bolsonaro government (2019-2022) is cited in specialized literature as a relevant political actor for propagating ideas and practices related to the New Right phenomenon in the Brazilian bureaucracy, together with countries like the United States, Hungary, Italy, and others. In this perspective, this article aims to analyze the Fundação Alexandre de Gusmão (FUNAG) seminars, available on his YouTube Channel, while Itamaraty’s branch, and responsible for the movement of ideas in the Brazilian foreign policy context. As a methodology, we employed a discourse and content analysis, analyzing the nine seminars entitled “A Conjuntura Internacional no Pós-Coronavírus”. We argue that, through the mentioned seminars, the Itamaraty pursued, in alignment with the Bolsonaro government, built an image and Brazil’s project characterized by Jewish-Christian values, a neoliberal model for economy and for fighting against globalism and the actual international infrastructure based on multilateralism and the Liberal International Order principles.
