Abstract

This article aims to present considerations on the historical itinerary of women's suffrage in Brazil, due to the 91 years completed in 2023. To this end, we will present the political and social situation that precedes women's suffrage and address the conditions that made it possible. A brief analysis of the moment when the first woman became president of the country will also be presented, being elected twice for the position. Finally, we will present an overview of what we currently have about female representation in political positions in Brazil from 2016 to 2022.
