This study aims to explore the issues related to the neglect faced by construction professionals in the early 20th century in Aracaju, who were not and are not recognized for their skills. To contextualize, we will mention the case of the São Paulo builder Joaquim Pinto de Oliveira (Tebas). Subsequently, we will address the challenges faced by workers involved in the construction of the Confiança Textile Factory and a workplace accident involving the builder Antônio Pedro de Figueiredo at a certain construction site, both occurring in Aracaju. For this purpose, we utilized primary sources such as periodicals from the studied period and legal proceedings, which reveal the labor abuses faced by these professionals.
