ENTRE O ESPAÇO POLÍTICO E A CONSTRUÇÃO HISTORIOGRÁFICA — UMA ANÁLISE DA CRÓNICA LATINA DE LOS REYES DE CASTILLA

This article, adapted from my undergraduate thesis, aims to reflect on the trajectory of the medieval queen Berenguela of Castile (1180–1246) and her representation in the Crónica Latina de los Reyes de Castilla. To this end, I chose to approach the topic through a gendered perspective, seeking to understand how gender-based tensions are manifested in Berenguela’s historical narrative and how they are situated within a historiographical tradition that has undergone significant changes over time. In the conclusion, I raise a guiding question: when revisiting the queen’s history and the struggles she faced throughout her life, is it possible to think in terms of a royal femininity?
