It presents how the field of Information Science has been working on the issue of gender in its research. For this purpose, the research was based on the articles made available in the Database in Information Science, on the theme of female participation in scientific production in Science and technology. The objective of the study is to present an overview of how the theme is being approached in Information Science. For the search in the database we determined the following terms: “gender studies”, “scientific AND female production” and “female production”. After reading the abstracts of 128 articles, 13 articles were selected for the analysis corpus. The analyzes showed that the most used type of methodology is that of metric information studies; the keywords most used in the articles were: gender, scientific production, women, information science, S&T indicators, metric studies, state of the art and scientific journal. The years with the highest production were 2012, 2017 and 2019. We conclude that gender studies in Science and Technology need more attention in the area of Information Science.Downloads
