Abstract

Research on the application of the Integrated Model of Thesaurus Construction of Cervantes, in the domain area of Scientific Communication. Its objective is the construction of a thesaurus for the domain of Communication, specifically the sub-domain Scientific Communication from the use of the Integrated Methodological Model of Cervantes (2009). It uses bibliographic research as methodology; it employs the aforementioned Cervantes' model for the construction of the Documentary Language; and uses the TemaTres software as a tool for structuring the thesaurus. For the extraction of the terms and the delimitation of the sub-domain, it makes use of the scientific article "Comunicação científica: reflexões sobre o conceito", authored by Caribé, and the Dictionary of Librarianship and Archivology for the verification of the terms. The data collection resulted in 307 terms from the area under study, being the central terms and those with greater semantic weight "Scientific", "Science" and "Communication", followed by "Knowledge", "Education", "Understanding" and "Public". It presents as a result the construction of the Thesaurus on Scientific Communication. It concludes that the application of the model proposed by Cervantes allowed the systematic analysis and the consequent elaboration of the thesaurus in the subdomain of Scientific Communication. It believes that the construction of the thesaurus on the aforementioned theme, as well as the description of its process, facilities and limitations encountered, contributes to the understanding of library science students and related areas of the concepts and procedures of knowledge organization systems, especially thesaurus.
