Thinking, proposing and operating a librarianship from Abya-Yala is more than a theoretical exercise, it even implies being outside the traditional ways in which we have understood ourselves as social scientists. It implies making use of the word, sowing it to reap other ways of relating to each other, naming ourselves and strengthening the field around its social functions. Professor Natalia Duque Cardona, from the University of Antioquia, Colombia and creator of the action research proposal Libraries from Abya-Yala, which today is a line of research of the Inter-American School of Library Science, tells in this interview a little about what has been your subjective and professional configuration in this commitment that is not only academic, but also personal and political.
