Considering the planning importance for the development of tourism destinations, as well as the increase of the development of smart tourism destinations as a new approach to planning and management, this research aimed to analyze the actions that associate tourism and intelligence that have been proposed in two important tourist destinations in Latin America. For this, it was developed an exploratory and descriptive study with qualitative approach, based on secondary data from the official government websites of Argentina and Mexico. The documents found were inserted into a table and elements related to intelligence were extracted and analyzed and subsequently categorized. The results shows that the main areas of action are: market intelligence to obtain demand data; the use of technological tools for planning and management; strategic intelligence systems; strengthening of digital government; development of technologies; promotion of smart cities and territories; energy reconversion and transition and water capture and waste treatment.
