This publication aims to highlight the trajectory of Mãe Beata, a Black woman from the Sertão region, whose religious experience was shaped by Umbanda, Jurema, and Candomblé, traditions that served as a source of faith, resistance, and community strengthening. The research is qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive in nature, developed using bibliographic and documentary procedures. It seeks to highlight relevant and sometimes little-known aspects of her work, especially in a context of political, social, and religious persecution. In this process, the importance of her contribution to the consolidation and visibility of Afro-Brazilian religions in the city of João Pessoa/PB is evident, recovering historical and symbolic landmarks that resonated through chants, drums, and ritual practices. Thus, the intention is not only to honor the memory of Mãe Beata but also to recognize the legacy of other priests and priestesses who, along with her, played a fundamental role in the preservation and dissemination of these religious traditions
