Call for papers: “Critical Studies on Television and its Transformations”

For this call, we expect articles that propose critical reflections on the following aspects:

- The history of TV Globo and other broadcasters from the point of view of their business models, technical-aesthetic standards and exercise of power;

- Globo's technical-aesthetic standard and its transformations;

- The occupation of television by religious groups;

- The (re)organisation of television markets in the current context;

- The platforming of television and its impact on the forms of production, circulation and consumption of content;

- The evolution of labour relations in television, with the platforming of journalism and the presence of artificial intelligence technologies;

- Television between the traditional model and streaming: competition, financing, technical and aesthetic standards and the relationship with the public;

- Problems related to regionalisation, national and international standardisation in free-to-air television and in relation to streaming platforms;

- The question of audience between massification and segmentation;

- Public communication systems in the new communication context;

- Competition for sports broadcasting between broadcasters and digital platforms.
