This article presents incursions into the book O dia em que fui Santa Joana dos Matadouros, published in 2020 by Jussara Salazar, to highlight the way in which the poet explores the theme of violence against women, their silencing, patriarchal oppression, feminicide. The objective is to explain the poetic intensity of unsubmissive voices against such a state of violence, in a lyrical and political way. A careful reading of these texts offers possibilities of interpretation aligned with the empowerment of the female universe in the face of oppressive circumstances and situations of marginalization that involve the experience of being a woman in contemporary society.
