Abstract

In order to highlight textures that give philosophical thickness to the theme of corporeality, the article presents some considerations about Merleau-Ponty's ontological project in articulation with the body, having as reference his last and unfinished work The visible and the invisible. In a first introductory movement are highlighted some ways the ontological proposal of the french philosopher, particularly from the notion of flesh. In the context of this ontology, how can the body be understood? The question guides the second movement of this article, developing reflections on the esthesiological body woven in the reversibility of the senses, with an emphasis on visibility, on the experience of looking and tactile palpation.
