Eunapius of Sardis, in his Life of the Sophists (Eun.VS 6.6.5 – 6.9.15), presents the life of Sosipatra of Pergamum, a young woman with clairvoyant and clairvoyant powers who becomes a philosopher affiliated with the school of Neoplatonism. During Sosipatra's clairvoyance, we will see the episodes that led her to the theurgic initiations at a very young age and a few additional scenes from her adult life. We will also see how the author takes up commonplaces derived from the ambience of Plato's Phaedrus. Finally, we will present an annotated Portuguese translation for the passage by Eunápio.
