A família à luz da ficção (notas para uma pesquisa)

Abstract

Resumo: A importância da literatura como dado sociológico é insistentemente ratificada, a despeito controvérsias entre os diversos paradigmas. Sem desconhecer tais percursos e até por conta dos mesmos, parece-nos prolífico estudar aspectos da estrutura familiar moderna à luz da ficção. Porém, sabemos que a matéria da qual a arte literária se alimenta não se faz com platitudes ou harmonias modelares. Assim, são justamente os conflitos elencados amiúde pela pena dos escritores que queremos explorar para tentar entender com maior abrangência os retratos familiares eleitos pelas narrativas. Retratos que, muitas vezes divergindo das projeções mais otimistas quanto ao lugar da família na galeria dos afetos mais diletos, acabam por revelar lados divergentes de uma instituição de tez híbrida, erigida entre o público e o privado. Desse modo, a verdade das mentiras inventariadas através do aporte literário pode traduzir, sociologicamente, o enquadramento que entroniza a família com um perfil de dupla face - entre a degenerescência que expõe a crueldade que a proximidade pode suscitar e o refúgio mais acolhedor e emblemático diante do desafio das contingências.

Abstract: The importance of literature as a sociological source is repeatedly ratified, despite the controversy. Without discounting these pathways, it seems prolific to study aspects of modern family structure based on the fiction. Nevertheless, we know that the material that feeds literary art is not made by platitudes or exemplary harmonies. Thus, what we want to precisely explore is the conflicts listed by the quills of the writers, in order to better understand familiar portraits elected by the narratives. Portraits that, often diverging from the most optimistic projections about the place in the gallery of family affection, turn out different sides of a hybrid institution, built between the public and private sectors. Thus, the literary text can translate, sociologically, the family institution and its double-sided profile - between the degeneration that exposes the cruelty and the more welcoming and emblematic shelter face the challenges of daily life.
