(RE) CONSTRUINDO MEMÓRIAS E RESSIGNIFICANDO O LOCUS ESCOLAR

This article aimed to discuss the school space as historical and cultural heritage, in order to reframe its timeless space, in order to guarantee a rescue of the social memory of the Fábrica do Rio Anil located in the State of Maranhão for the State Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Maranhão (IEMA) - IEMA Rio Anil, state public school located in the metropolitan region of São Luis (MA). It is evidenced that the construction and promotion of knowledge of the school locus allowed clarifying issues, establishing theoretical and practical results that ensure greater apprehension of students and approximation of historical contexts and teachings necessary for their lives. However, rescuing the students' social memory and making them understand the importance of local belonging corroborates their protagonism in Ludovic society. Therefore, this article followed the principles of action research, which features the active participation of students, through the democratic impulse and contribution to social change through observation and analysis of the research work carried out by students. It was observed in this process that students feel motivated to seek to know and recognize beyond the architectural structures, but to characterize and reframe these spaces as an important element for their social identity and that of the local community.
