In this article, we analyze the thematic cores of three events of great relevance by the Brazilian Society of Mathematics Education (SBEM) for developing mathematical teaching and learning in our country. The events are the latest editions of the National Meeting of Mathematics Education (ENEM), the International Seminar on Research in Mathematics Education (SIPEM), and the Ibero-American Congress of Mathematics Education (CIBEM). Methodologically, this is an exploratory investigation regarding the objective and a bibliographic nature regarding the technical procedure, through which we seek to answer the research question: “What thematic nuclei of research in Mathematical Assessment emerge from the works published in the annals of the XIV ENEM, IX CIBEM, and VIII SIPEM?” The analytical material covers 26 works available on the Mathematical Assessment events websites. In general, the results indicate that there is still a lot to advance in research on evaluation processes about teaching and learning mathematics, as well as in the creation of more effective public educational policies, which include both formative and diagnostic aspects, pointing out deeper paths for educational transformations in the medium and long term.
