A CAPA DO LIVRO PARADIDÁTICO: DISCURSOS EDITORIAL E DIDÁTICO EM UMA OBRA DA FTD

THE SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL BOOK COVER: EDITORIAL AND DIDACTICAL DISCOURSES IN A WORK OF FTD

Resumo

RESUMO: Admitindo o fato de que, grosso modo, uma obra de caráter paradidático deva valer-se de procedimentos semióticos diversos que promovam a aproximação entre enunciador e enunciatário-leitor, podemos inferir igualmente que a sua capa é um dos elementos que mais claramente evidencia esse processo de aproximação. A capa, assim, pode ser entendida como a materialização de um ponto de contato entre um enunciador complexo, construído graças à projeção de valores editoriais, científicos e didáticos, e um enunciatário-leitor pressuposto, marcado, por sua vez, por valores editoriais, escolares e mercadológicos, em outras palavras, como o lugar da própria realização do contrato fiduciário. Partindo desse pressuposto, e elegendo os paratextos capa, orelhas e contracapa da obra ‘O poeta que fingia’, nosso objetivo é analisar as estratégias discursivas e os recursos verbo-visuais que modalizam o enunciatário-leitor por um querer fazer, reconhecido, no nível do discurso, como um querer ler. Para dar conta desse objetivo, nos apoiaremos nos pressupostos da semiótica discursiva, das contribuições de uma semiótica plástica e da reflexão sobre os níveis de pertinência da análise semiótica, como proposta por Jacques Fontanille, e, de outro lado, das reflexões de Gérard Genette sobre a noção de paratexto editorial.

ABSTRACT: Admitting the fact that, grosso modo, a work of supplemental educational material feature should draw upon semiotic procedures that promote closeness between enunciator and enunciatee-reader, we can equally infer that its cover is one of the elements that most clearly shows this process of closeness. The cover, therefore, can be understood as the materialization of a contact point between a complex enunciator, constructed due to the projection of editorial, scientific and didactic values, and a presupposed enunciatee-reader, marked, on the other hand, by editorial, school and market values, in other words, as the place of the actual realization of the fiduciary contract. From this assumption and by choosing the cover, book flap and the back cover of the work The Poet who pretended, our goal is to analyze the discursive strategies and the verbal-visual resources that modalize the enunciatee-reader to wanting-to-do, recognized, in the discourse level, as a wanting to read. To fulfill this objective, we will rely on the presuppositions of discursive semiotics, the contributions of a plastic semiotics and the reflection on the levels of pertinence of the semiotic analysis, as proposed by Jacques Fontanille, and, on the other hand, from Gerard Genette’s reflections on the notion of editorial paratexts.
