In this article we analyze the narrative of the first season of the television series Severance (2022) from the perspective of critical posthumanism. Based on the representation of consciousness severance, the article is divided In two parts. In the first, we explore (1) the Interactions between human beings and technology In the neoliberal context; (2) the production of subjectivities and subjects In becoming and (3) the representation of biopower. In the second part, we look at a small narrative aspect and analyze the use of severance during childbirth from a gender perspective, highlighting power relations and the construction of identities. We conclude that by taking the Interaction between human beings and technology to the extreme, Severance makes it possible to reflect about current power relations and the paths towards subjects’ emancipation.
