Abstract

This article presents the organization of the intercultural indigenous school education of the Laklãnõ/Xokleng People as a possibility of resistance and breaking of colonialities. Since the arrival of Europeans in the southern region of Brazil, these people seek to resist and preserve their history and culture in view of the impositions of non-indigenous society. This study intents to identify educational practices that break with the colonialities produced. The methodology was based on participative research with indigenous teachers. The results show that the community identifies the school as an instrument for strengthening culture and as a means of appropriating knowledge from non-indigenous society that is important in the fight to guarantee rights that are still violated. In the final analysis, we conclude that the resistance strategies of the People involve dialogic practices of intercultural education.
