JACKSON DO PANDEIRO: NEGRO-VIDA
Abstract
The work in question has the interest to present the importance of the life of the rhythmist Jackson do Pandeiro taking as a parameter the construction of the forró as popular literary expression current in the period of transition between the nineteenth and twentieth century. The theoretical perspective is in direct dialogue with the classical literature and with the literary canon, although it does not fail to confer the Afro-Brazilian protagonism. As methodologies were analyzed the life and work of Jackson do Pandeiro, selecting some important lyrics to the repertoire of the singer between 1953-1977. We observed in his compositions elements of the Afro-Brazilian culture identifying the forró as oral literature.
