This article deals with the subject of the narrator in Almeida Faria 's novel The Conqueror, trying to analyze how the narrator positions himself in the novel and, consequently, how he conceives the world and things, from his privileged view of the real. With his homodiegetic narrator, the author seeks to criticize the fixation of Portuguese by one of Porftugal1s greatest myths, that of D. Sebastião.
Keywords: Character. Narrator. Homodiegetic. D. Sebastião.
