The present work proposes the analysis of female-authored narratives of Italian postcolonial literature from an intersectional perspective (CRENSHAW, 1989), being this one of the major contributions of contemporary feminism. Intersectionality takes into account the heterogeneity of female subjects, pointing out that gender discrimination must be examined simultaneously with other types of oppression. Besides this, it addresses the coercive effects of power relations, providing women possibilities of resistance and agency (BRAH, 1996).
