THE BURNOUT SOCIETY IN LUCIANA TONELLI'S PAULICEIA

Luciana Tonelli's Flagrantes do tempo: poema-reportagem na pauliceia can be considered as a set of poems that, despite their singularities, make up a unit, which the poet calls “poem-reportage”. Read as a journey through São Paulo, the book exposes, through the voyeur's lyrical subject's view, the capitalist urban everyday life, in which time is fragmented and, sometimes, individuals are subjected to the voracity and speed of hours, sometimes to the time that allows an adrift look. In this paper, we intend, based on selected poems, to reflect on how the configuration of the contemporary capitalist city limits citizens' lives city, giving shape to what Byung-Chul Han calls the burnout society. Based on a transdisciplinary approach to literary studies, we seek to understand, in Luciana Tonelli's lyric, how the urban subject is represented in its exhaustion, as well as in favorable conditions to the reinvention of their lives.
