Abstract

Female representation in parliament is a powerful indicator when the development of a nation's democracy is considered. The objective of this study is to raise awareness and comment on the phenomenon in the electoral systems of Brazil and Argentina. The Instruments available to guarantee women's place in parliament were identified by making use of comparative law presenting successful experiences that can contribute to the policies implemented in Brazil.
