Abstract

From the analysis of documentary sources, articles and bibliographies, the present work seeks to deal with black women and scientists in the academic context. The writing deals in the first part of the social construction attributed to black women, denying their place of gender, race, class and intellectuality, using the timeless tool of racism and sexism to curb and invalidate their power of intellectual theoretical construction. The work shows how the identity markers of race, sex and class intersected in order to make them broker a political agenda for citizenship rights, education, denouncing silence in the face of the multiple violence experienced by the black female body within spaces of intellectual power such as academia and science.
