From the Camba to the Indigenous peoples of the Northeast

Abstract

Based on the proposal of a brief comparative analysis between an indigenous group on the Brazil-Bolivia border, the Camba, and indigenous peoples of the Brazilian Northeast, we will discuss issues that include the use of ethnonyms as a form of identity affirmation and the means that indigenous groups use for the recognition of their ethnic identities and their rights vis-à-vis the Brazilian national State.
