Oral History as a method of historiographical research applied to the Folias de Santo in quilombola communities in Óbidos-PA
Abstract
Abstract: This study has as its central proposal to emphasize some propositions regarding the discussions that correlate with oral history as a research method, as well as the possibility of sampling methodology due to the qualitative research subjects, both oral and documentary. Starting from the proposition of what refers to the influence of oral history in the writing of History in the perspective of building knowledge about the importance of oral reports, turning to the past with an eye on the History of the Present Time. The arguments initially involve information bearing in mind that the methodology of oral history consists of dealing historically with something, based on reports and testimonies from people who, in some way, were related to what the historian chose to research. Secondly, the discussions are related to the methodological paths designed to conduct the investigation process of a research, which is: Qualitative, Documental and Oral. These and other information are the proposals of this article, as it leads the reader to have contact with several basic contextualized structures, thus helping to understand the existing context and importance of oral history in a historiographical research.
