Résumé

This paper aims to indicate the main weaknesses that made the Brazilian manufacturing industry reach the lowest levels in recent history, returning to the parameters of 1947. In a comparative perspective, it will be made the analysis of the success of Chinese industrialization, pointing possible lessons for the Brazilian experience, given the particularities of each reality.

Graduada em Ciências Econômicas, Mestra e Doutora em Ciência Política (UFPE). Atualmente, é pesquisadora-associada do Instituto de Estudos da Ásia e professora de Relações Internacionais da Faculdade Damas.
