Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.-
1. TOMO aims to provide the academic community with high quality scientific knowledge in the field of Sociology
and related areas such as Anthropology, Political Sciences, and International Relations. - 2. TOMO publishes scientific articles, critical reviews, interviews, and preprints in our regular and special issues.
- 3. All submissions are evaluated by TOMO’s editorial team and will only move forward to the peer-review stage if they are in accordance with TOMO’s focus and scope and if they meet all the submission requirements.
- 4. The average timeline for submission, evaluation, review, and publication is 06 months.
- 5. Except for preprints, manuscripts must be original and cannot have been submitted to other journals.
- 6. Manuscripts must be uploaded exclusively through the TOMO Journal system
- 7. The first author of the manuscript must hold a PhD degree. Other co-authors must have at least a Master degree.
- 8. It is mandatory to provide the ORCID number when submitting the manuscript.
- 9. Manuscripts are published in PDF, PDF/A, HTML, XML, and Epub formats.
- Submission Check List Below (item "A" to "J")
- A)Download the submission template and write the manuscript in the format required by TOMO. All manuscripts must be written in Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 spacing. Be aware of the maximum number of characters depending on the manuscript format.
- B)Be aware of the format of citations and bibliographical references, which must comply with the ABNT standards
- C)Don't forget to insert the abstract (up to 150 words) and the 5 keywords in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
- D)Do not identify the authors in the submission template . Also, do not identify authorship in the main text of the manuscript.
- E)Download the separate sheet template to insert institutional information, the link to the Lattes CV (if authors are Brazilian), the ORCID number, CrediT, funding, acknowledgments, and the link to access the database of the manuscript.
- F)Download the declaration of originality template to declare that the manuscript is original (except for preprints).
- G)If there is any conflict of interest in the content of the manuscript write a declaration about it and send it as a separate document.
- H)Enter the TOMO journal website and complete your registration.
- I)Follow the steps in the journal website to submit the manuscript. Make sure to fill in all fields for both the manuscript and the authors. In some occasions the form must be completed in three languages (Portuguese, English, and Spanish).
- J)Submit your article and check if you have received the automatic notification of submission in the Email you have provided in your profile. Within 1 month you will be notified if the manuscript will move on to the evaluation stage.

HOW LONG WILL YOUR PERSONAL DATA BE STORED?
Personal data will be stored on the TOMO Journal website during the manuscript evaluation process. After this period, the data are archived in the "users" database of the TOMO Journal at OJS.
LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA
Each personal data processing operation must have a legal basis, which is nothing more than a justification that authorizes it, provided for in the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data.

USER RIGHTS
The user of TOMO Journal has the following rights, conferred by the Personal Data Protection Law:
• confirmation of the existence of treatment;

• correction of incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data;
• anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary, excessive or processed data that do not comply with the provisions of the law;
• portability of data to another provider of services or products, upon express request, under the terms of national authority regulations, subject to classified commercial and industrial information;

• information from public and private entities with which the controller has shared data;
• information about the possibility of non-consent and the consequences of refusal;

HOW THE HOLDER CAN EXERCISE HIS RIGHTS
To ensure that the holder can exercise his rights, TOMO journal may request some documentation that proves the identity of the holder. However, this will only be done if absolutely necessary and the user will be provided with all related information.
SECURITY MEASURES IN THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
TOMO Journal is hosted on the OJS platform, which is widely used for the purposes of editing and publishing journals and has its own security tools in the processing of personal data.
Only the Editorial Team involved in the Editorial Process of the article have access to the personal data of the author(s) of TOMO Journal.
COMPLAINT TO A SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY
If they feel harmed or harmed, the author(s) may file a complaint with the National Data Protection Authority. It may also mobilize administrative or judicial resources.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
Any changes to the Privacy Policy will follow the changes brought by law.
