Centro, direita e esquerda nas eleições para a Câmara dos deputados: Uma análise longitudinal dos resultados eleitorais

Abstract

A produção sobre eleições partidos políticos brasileiros e vasta, mas observa-se que os resultados dos partidos, classificados a partir de um critério ideológico, não tem merecido analises exaustivas no plano das eleições proporcionais. Este artigo apresenta o desempenho dos blocos ideológicos - direita, centro e esquerda - nas eleições para a Câmara dos Deputados, no período de 1982 - 1998, por região. A pesquisa revelou uma tendência ao equilíbrio da força eleitoral dos blocos, um processo de distribuição mais equalizada da votação dos blocos nas regiões - fenômeno o posto ao da concentração, e confirmou ainda que a desproporcionalidade do sistema partidário afetou a representação política na Câmara os Deputados, agindo no sentido de sobre-representar os partidos conservadores e sub-representar a esquerda.
