IS MATH FOR MEN? REFLECTING ON GENDER INCLUSION WITH UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS MAJORING IN MATHEMATICS

This paper presents a researchstudyclipping whose main objective was to investigate contributions that a set of meetings, focused on the discussion on gender inclusion in Mathematics, brought to the training of a group ofundergraduatestudents majoring inMathematics at apublicuniversityin Minas Gerais. The meetings, within the scope of afocus group, took place through Google Meet platform with five students, four women and one man. The central guiding concepts of the meetings were inclusion, gender,and gender inclusion. The results revealed some contributions to the students' education. They came to understand: The need for a critical look at situations of discrimination against women, including in Mathematics, and the need to move in adirection that changes behaviors andto takeactions that lead to this; that the gender discussion can be included in the inclusion agenda; that they are making history in terms of advances in the training of future Mathematics teachers; the importance of research; that gender stereotypes contribute to processes of exclusion of women.
